The veil, says one political researcher, does "all the talking". One look at the wives of election candidates Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto and they're bound to win a lot of votes, he said, offering an explanation for the reported internal survey of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
"We're so sorry," says a PKS leader, "we're definitely loyal to the coalition of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), but we can't control the hearts of our grass roots."
Your comments:
I am constantly surprised by people who are easily insulted or hurt when others dare question their religion or convictions. In such instances, one wonders about the strength of their faith and convictions that they so loudly claim to own.
The most ludicrous idea is that man is able to insult God. Surely God would no more be insulted by our petty behavior any more than a parent would be insulted by their own child's behavior. If anything, I suspect that God would be embarrassed.
And it's quite hard to understand why people who preach in the concept of another life after this one would attach so much weight to the comments of those non believers, who supposedly have no chance of afterlife or rebirth.

One arrested over online complaint --May 30, Online
An Indonesian woman was arrested on May 13 for allegedly circulating online defamatory statements against a hospital in Banten province, Indonesia. According to the Southeast Asian Press Alliance, the prosecutor of Tangerang town in Banten said Prita Mulyasari was charged with violation of Article 27.3 of the Law on Electronic Information and Transaction. The charge carries a 6-year prison term. It was learned that Prita, who had been a patient at the Omni International Hospital, had asked her doctor for her medical record. When the doctor refused, Prita sent copies of her complaint via email.
Your comments:
The corporate hospital tried to silence a dying patient. These hospital owners should be jailed. Shame on Omni Hospital.

Since when does a patient have no right to his/her medical records? And since when is using an email to convey a message against the law? Perhaps the Omni International Hospital in Banten has something to hide?
I would suggest that denying a patient their medical records is against the principals of human rights to information.
Charging a person for this under the Law on Electronic Information and Transaction is a farce!
The patient, Prita, should immediately file a counter claim and seek a very large amount of damages (Rp 100 billion) from the hospital.

Despite the fact that patients are entitled access to their own medical records, what about her rights and her freedom of speech?

Clerics want rules for Facebook -- May 21, Online
Muslim clerics are seeking ways to regulate online behavior in Indonesia, saying the exploding popularity of social networking sites like Facebook could encourage illicit sex. Around 700 clerics, or imams, gathered in the world's most populous Muslim nation were considering guidelines ruling their followers from going online to flirt or engage in practices they believe could encourage extramarital affairs.
Your comments:
The main problem is the human being! Whatever well-intentioned application is made, if the human being has a sick mind, the application will always be misused.
I don't think all clerics have good moral standards, perhaps they are afraid people will find out they use Facebook.

How will they be able to successfully implement such a senseless ruling? They are ridiculous! Are there not many other websites that promote illicit behavior?
To ban the Internet as well is definitely more of a disadvantage when it is a repository for so much information that can be proven beneficial for everybody.
They are so concerned about children accessing inappropriate websites, but it is the parents' responsibility to ensure children are monitored when surfing the net. Are we just too lazy to do this? When there are so many other problems to resolve, I wonder why they are attacking Facebook?
