AKARTA: The Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), the National Police and the Attorney General's Office kicked off Monday a meeting to settle overlapping authority in poll monitoring.
"We discussed several issues today, including the need for stricter limitation of our authority, especially when it comes to the right to collect preliminary evidence," Bawaslu special adviser Titi Anggraeni said.
Grouped under the Law Enforcement Center (Sentra Gakumdu), the three institutions are charged with handling cases of electoral fraud during the legislative elections and will carry on the job in the upcoming presidential election.
