DENPASAR: Bali will play host to the third South and Southeast Asia Association for the Study of Culture and Religion (SSEARS) Conference, which starts Wednesday.
Over 500 participants from 61 countries have confirmed they will participate in the four-day event, which will be held at the campuses of the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) and the Indonesian Hindu University in Denpasar.
Organizing committee chief I Wayan Rai, ISI rector, said the UNESCO-sanctioned meeting would recommend stronger efforts to protect water as a resource. This year's conference is titled, "Water in South and Southeast Asia: Interaction and Religion". - JP
