BEKASI: A police officer in Pondok Gede, Bekasi, was severely injured after he was attacked by dozens of army soldiers on Thursday.

According to city police's public relation head Adj. Sr. Comr. Chryshnanda, First Brig. Adi Sofyan, who works at the Pondok Gede Police station, was assaulted after he arrested Veky Karungu, an army soldier, for driving his motorcycle carelessly Wednesday night.

Veky, who was allegedly drunk, hit a car in Jl. Jatiwaringin. He tried to escape but was then stopped by Adi, who brought him back to the Pondok Gede precinct.

Veky's friends released him before midnight.

At midnight, some 40 army soldiers raid the Pondok Gede precinct to attack Adi, allegedly seeking revenge.

"The victim was attacked and hit with bayonets," Chryshnanda said Thursday. - JP

Good job bapak Adi.

You did the right thing, and you also kept your dignity. If you don't retaliate against those drunken, childish, military dogs, you will expose them for who they really are.

You have exposed them.

Don't seek revenge, and your story won't be forgotten.

Keep up the good work, Pak Adi.
