Registered voters in the July 8 presidential election rose by 5 percent to 7,668,058 from the previous legislative elections.
"We have actively promoted the election registration to district and sub-district levels," said Jamaluddin F. Hasyim, head of the voter registration working group at the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD).
"We will have a new problem after we give those registered voters voting invitations. People who have yet to be registered will complain because they don't get any voting invitations."
He said 12,051 polling stations would serve up to 800 registered voters.
