After a meeting with the Communion Indonesian Church (PGI) on Monday, presidential hopeful Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to visit the Bishops' Conference of Indonesia (KWI) on Tuesday.
The visit to the country's catholic communities will be conducted after Kalla, who is also incumbent Vice President, returns from a trip to East Java to meet village heads.
Kalla left for Surabaya earlier in the day, accompanied by, among others, Vice Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly Aksa Mahmud and State Minister for State Enterprises Sofyan Djalil.
During the meeting with Kalla on Monday the PGI raised concerns over problems in getting permits to build churches. The presidential election is scheduled
for July 8.
