The Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI), which announced the results of its latest presidential election survey on Thursday, admitted it had previously conducted a survey for the campaign team of presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

“We conducted two separate surveys recently. One of them was purely for and sponsored by SBY-Boediono and we submitted the results back to their campaign team in May," LSI research director Arman Salam told reporters.

"The other survey was conducted with our own funds and we announced it today to the public."

In its independent survey, the LSI said the SBY-Boediono pair would likely win the July 8 presidential election in a single round victory.

The survey, conducted in 33 provinces with 4,000 respondents and margin of error of 2.4 percent, saw gave 63 percent of votes go to SBY, followed by Megawati Soekarnoputri with 16 percent and Jusuf Kalla with 6 percent.
