JAKARTA: A Social Services Ministry's shelter for children is currently looking after a four-year-old boy found by a children's rights activist on a Bekasi to Jakarta train.
A counselor for street children, Muhamad Tamim Pardede, found the boy named Bagus on the train last week. Bagus, who looked lost, told Pardede that he lived in Citayam and had two siblings. When a woman on the train asked Bagus why he was on the train, the boy replied, "Mom was angry with me. Bagus was kicked out".
Pardede reported the lost child to the police. A couple of days later, staff from the Indonesian Commission for Children's Protection (KPAI) collected the young boy.
Yani Suheryani, who works at the shelter, told kompas.com that Bagus was healthy and jovial. Bagus is around a meter tall and is fair-skinned.
