Following the pressures from the public, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) finally decided to replace Banten Prosecutors’ Office chief Dondy K Soedirman, an official said Friday.

AGO spokesman Jasman Pandjaitan, however, was quick to add that the replacement had nothing to do the public outcry over Banten prosecutors office’s detention of Prita Mulyasari, a mother of two, for a defamation case.

Prita was detained for three weeks after she was charged with defamation for posting complaints on the Internet about the poor service of Omni International Hospital in Serpong, Tangerang.

“I was not told that the replacement had something to with Prita’s case. A special meeting discussing the case has not yet concluded. Thus I could not provide comment regarding this issue right now,” AGO’s spokesman Jasman Pandjaitan told a press conference Friday.

However he acknowledged that the replacement was made after the AGO saw signs of people’s dissatisfaction with the AGO over the case.

“This is in line with the AGO internal policy, to continue improving our quality and professionalism,” he said.

the habit of the government simply wasn't change by denying the reality that the replacement of the Kajati is related to Ibu Prita's case.
