Three injured, one missing in Makassar LPG depot fire

Authorities have reported that three men were injured and one remains missing after a Pertamina liquid petroleum gas (LPG) depot caught fire in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Saturday morning.

The injured victims - Jufri (44), Idris (43), and Siswono (36) - were taken to nearby Jala Amari Navy Hospital.

A man identified as Ibrahim, a tank truck driver, was still missing.

An employee at the station, who declined to give his name, told The Jakarta Post that the fire was started at around 9 a.m. when the tank truck was filling up at the depot.

Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of fire.

Dozens of fire fighters have managed to extinguish the fire, which reach dozens of meters high.

The incident at the depot, which is located at the Soekarno-Hatta Seaport, caused panic among nearby residents. (dre)
