Bronze and copper may be for those that come in third, but they certainly this summer's top winners as hair and makeup brands have set them to be the color of the season.

Sweden-based makeup brand Make Up Store's brand manager Ingga Gloriana said the summer's trends were reflected in their new Bronzed collection, which was inspired by summer activities and tanned women on the beach.

"The Bronzed collection is the golden trend of this summer. The sparkling makeup is made with exclusive products that make the skin glow and shimmer."

The highlight of the collection is the Luminous Bronzer, consisting of both the makeup base and application brush.

To use the bronzer, you simply click the button on the handle, the creamy foundation will come out and you can swipe the brush on your face and body.

Ingga was sure the trend would last for a while because the color was natural and suitable for Indonesians.

"The bronzer will blend and match with Indonesians' skin color. It will make our skin glowing and sensual."

Besides the bronzer, the Bronzed collection includes Gloss Lips, Lipstick as well as the eye shadows Cybershadow and Microshadow.

As the focus of the look is the eyes, black eye pencil is used under the eyes, combined with gold, copper, bronze and a shade of green on the eyelids.

To make the eyes look bigger, you can extend the line under the eye towards the cheekbone. While the eyes are centre stage, the lips look almost bare with colors like pale pink, orange, apricot and beige.

"Bronzed will look good on day and night and better with green, the hues of purple and brown. During the day, you can use brighter eye shadow, while for a bolder look at night, you can use darker shades of green and purple," Ingga said.

The Bronzed look will definitely suit local hairdresser brand Johnny Andrean's Dazzling Color hair trend, which features copper and mahogany as its summer colors.

Gita Herdi Hastarani, senior manager of public relations and promotion at Johnny Andrean, said the summer's trends consisted of three colors: Hot Mahogany, Summer Brown and Sunset Brown.

Hot Mahogany, bright brown with a shade of mahogany red, is aimed at people with a playful and stylish mood; Summer Brown, light brown with a shade of mahogany, is for people with fun and modern mood; while Sunset Brown, dark brown with a shade of copper, is for people with a mature and elegant mood.

According to Gita, the colors will look different under the sunlight, from morning to noon to afternoon. They would also have different color gradation when seen indoors and outdoors, she added.

She said there were two types of color application. First is applying only one color. This color application will fit people who do not want a lot of color on their head.

The other one is using two to three colors on different layer. The final result will look as if only one color is applied. But when the hair is blown or cut in wavy hairdo, the sunlight falling on the hair will give a stunning look.

"To bring out the colors, we suggest that the customers have a layered or wavy hairdo," Gita said.

It is summer anyway; let the sun do the beautifying work.
