A former employee has sued state postal service, PT Pos Indonesia, for allegedly cutting employees’ salaries to help finance the Golkar Party from 1988 to 1994 and asked the firm to pay him Rp 1 trillion (US$100 million) in compensation.
Kompas.com reported Sunday that Sumargono, 52, claimed his salary was slashed by PT Pos to finance Golkar on various occasions including a Rp 2,400 cut in 1994.
"It is not much, but the total will be huge as the salaries of so many employees were cut," he said.
