Indonesia did not win a title at this year's Singapore Badminton Open after its competitors in the women’s doubles and men’s doubles were toppled by their respective rivals in the final battles on Sunday, tempointeraktif.com has reported.

In the women’s doubles division, Nitya Krishinda Maheswari and Greysia Polii were defeated by their counterparts from China, Zhang Yawen and Zhai Tingting by 14-21 and 13-21.

Greysia said she and her partner had played their best but admitted their counterparts had better finishing touches.

Meanwhile, men’s doubles players Hendra Setiawan and Markis Kido surrendered to the United Kingdom's Anthony Clark and Nathan Robertson.  Hendra and Markis lost 12-21 and 11-21.

“The final match was an anticlimax for me; I played better in the semifinal,” Markis said after the game. (ewd)
