Evaluation of military transport to finish July: TNI chief

Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Gen. Djoko Santoso said TNI would complete its evaluation of its air transport system and aircraft fleets on July 30.“Let's just wait for [for the results of the evaluation]. [We] can not make any assumptions over this,” he said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has ordered TNI to make the evaluation following a series of crashes involving military transport. Seven military aircraft have crashed so far this year, killing 83 military officers.
Djoko said the evaluation, which will cover maintenance, personnel, management and budget, was being carried out by the TNI Inspectorate General and the Defense Ministry. (dre)
