The General Elections Commission (KPU) will use a movie and several traditional performances to attract people to vote in the July 8 presidential election.
“We will encourage the public to vote with a 45-minute comedy movie, a Javanese comedy genre known as Ketoprak Humor, and a
wayang kulit (shadow puppet) show,” KPU member Endang Sulastri said on Tuesday.
The commission had also trained its officials in regional offices about the importance of the election and increasing voter turnout, Endang said.
She urged the public to check local polling stations to find out whether or not they were registered on the electoral roll.
If voters were not registered, they could register at the nearest polling station, Endang said. (fmb)
