Evaluation of transport to finish in July: TNI chief

Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Gen. Djoko Santoso said the military would conclude its evaluation of its air transportation system and aircraft fleet by July 30.
"Let's just wait *for the results of the evaluation*. We can not make any assumptions over this," Djoko said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono ordered the military to undertake the evaluation following a series of fatal accidents crashes involving military equipment. Seven military aircraft have crashed so far this year, resulting in the deaths of 83 military officers.
Djoko said the evaluation, which will cover maintenance, personnel, management and budget, was being carried out by the TNI Inspectorate General and the Defense Ministry. -JP
