Presidential candidates are set to go head-to-head in the much-anticipated presidential debate to be aired live by terrestrial Trans TV on Thursday starting at 7 p.m.
Paramadina University rector Anies Baswedan will host the debate between presidential hopefuls Megawati Soekarnoputri, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Jusuf Kalla, with the theme of “realizing good and clean governance and upholding the supremacy of the law and human rights.”
General Elections Commission (KPU) member I Gusti Putu Artha said the debate would last for one and a half hours, with seven minutes given to each candidate to give their vision and agenda on the topics, followed by 30 minutes of in-depth discussion from the moderator. The debate will conclude with a question-and-answer session between the candidates.
The KPU has planned a series of three presidential candidates’ debates, the next one slated for June 25, and the final debate scheduled for July 2.
