Mother kills own baby to cover affair
JAKARTA: The Penjaringan Police caught a woman suspected of killing her own newborn baby who was found dead with a lacerated throat, lips and ear in Penjaringan district, North Jakarta, Thursday.
The baby boy was found by a public minibus driver, 33-year-old Ade Nanang, at around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Nanang then told the people nearby, who reported the finding to the Penjaringan Police.
The police's questioning of witnesses around the crime scene led them to 29-year-old Made Wijayanti, a housekeeper who works in one of the shop houses in the area.
The police have caught Wijayanti, and are still questioning her at the Penjaringan police post.
She is currently suspected of killing the baby out of shame for giving birth to newborn, whom she had from an affair with a yet unidentified man. - JP
