Presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said Saturday pluralism would be a factor in determining his Cabinet ministers if he wins a second term in the upcoming presidential election.
"Pluralism is important but quality may not be ignored, as Cabinet members are expected to be able to work according to their expertise," he was quoted by Antara state news agency as saying during his campaign stop in Pekanbaru, Riau.
When asked if he would consider local figures, he said: "I have not come to that point."
Yudhoyono travelled to Sumatra, while his challengers Jusuf Kalla went to Papua and Megawati Soekarnoputri to West Java.
Yudhoyono's campaign team member Ramadan Pohan said, based on internal surveys, Yudhoyono should collect 70 percent of the votes in North Sumatra and in other areas in Sumatra.
