Publicly listed Bank Capital has forecast a 113 percent growth in profit this year on the back of higher interest income, Antara state news agency reported Monday.
The bank was upbeat that its profit would rise to Rp 25.79 billion (US$ 2.5 million) in 2009 from the Rp 12.1 billion last year.
The bank expected its interest income to increase by 60 percent to Rp 280 billion this year and its credit disbursement to grow 80 percent to Rp 1.21 trillion.
It also aimed to raise its capital adequacy ratio from 28.4 percent last year to 42.77 percent this year.
By the end of March, however, Bank Capital had only managed to book a profit of Rp 2.39 billion, a 33 percent decrease from last year's Rp 3.6 billion. (adh)
