The House of Representatives’ special committee began to visit the regions Monday to investigate alleged electoral roll fraud that robbed around 40 million eligible voters of their right to vote during the April 9 elections.
“We have five teams that will visit regions in South Sulawesi, East Java, Papua and Bali. I lead the team which will visit Papua,” Gayus Lumbun, head of the special committee on the alleged electoral roll fraud, said Monday.
Gayus said the team would spend three to four days gathering data from regional leaders to ascertain if there were any irregularities during the elections.
“We will analyze the data and will then summon the institutions responsible for the elections, such as the General Elections Commission (KPU), the home ministry and the finance ministry,” he said. (hdt)
