Angky Camaro, chief commissioner of publicly-listed cigarrette producer HM Sampoerna, passed away at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, on Monday early morning, Tempointeraktif.com reported.
The body of Angky Camaro will be flown to Jakarta on Tuesday and brought to his home at Vila Duta Bogor, south of Jakarta.
Angky Camaro started his career at Volkswagen AG Wolfburg. After two years at Volkswagen, he moved to German Motor Mfg, a joint venture between Daimler Benz and Volkswagen AG in Jakarta. He left this company in 1981 as assistant finance director.
In 1982, he joined local automotive group Indomobil as vice president director, a position he held for the next 20 years. In April 2002, Angky Camaro joined HM Sampoerna as managing director.
