Vice President Jusuf Kalla will make a state visit to Central Java province on Tuesday to meet groups of farmers and young people.
Kalla, chairman of the Golkar Party who is also vying for the presidential post in the July 8 election, will meet local farmers and fisherman in Brebes.
Accompanied by about 30 journalists, Kalla will later officially close the Nahdlatul Ulama Youths Association (IPPNU) Congress in Losari, also in Central Java. The IPPNU is one of the autonomous bodies under the Nahdlatul Ulama, the country's biggest Muslim organization.
Before departing for Central Java, Kalla will be the keynote speaker in a one-day forum on peace development in the country, which features speakers taking part in the peace processes in Aceh and Poso, namely Farid Husain and Syaid Mustafa respectively.
