IDX appoints Ito as its new president director

The annual shareholders' meeting of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) approved on Wednesday the appointment of Ito Warsito as its new president director.
Ito, who is the president commissioner of PT Bahana Securities, will replace Erry Firmansyah, who has been in the position since 2002.
During the meeting, Ito managed to secure more votes than I Made Rugeh Ramia, the only other candidate.
Ito will serve in the post for the next three years and has pledged to improve the online technology of the trading system so as to boost the number of retail investors.
