Mobile phone distributor PT Trikomsel Oke is targeting to increase its revenue by 20.75 percent this year, to Rp 6.4 trillion (US$ 627.2 million) from Rp 5.3 trillion in 2008.
“We are optimistic that we will be able to achieve this year's target revenue on the back of people’s higher purchasing power and higher market interest in technology products,” Trikomsel president director Sugiono Wiyono said Friday in Jakarta, as quoted by state news agency Antara.
He added the high market potential in the telecommunications industry, particularly for cellular and information technology, had driven the potential for bigger revenue.
This year, the company, which has 813 stores under the brand name "Oke Shop" in 145 cities across the country, will spend Rp 30 billion in capital expenditure.
“The fund will come from, in part, the selling of shares through an initial public offering and from the company's internal cash flow,” Sugiono said.
Trikomsel commissioner Suryatin Setiawan said that with the fund allocated for capital expenditure, the company would open more stores and also partner up with a netbook producer, Acer, to sell its products.
“Acer's netbooks will be available in Oke Shops starting in the third quarter of the year,” Suryatin said. (adh)
