The city administration is proposing an extra Rp 1.7 trillion for this year’s revised budget, an official said Monday.

Head of the Jakarta Development Agency (Bappeda), Nurfakih Wirawan, said the administration had submitted the revision of the city budget of Rp 22.42 trillion to the City Council last week.

“We are still waiting for the council to complete deliberation of the proposal,” Nurfakih told reporters at City Hall.

The council is slated to pass the revised budget on July 6.

The proposal includes a temporary list of priority items. Nurfakih said the administration and the council would discuss further which items would receive the biggest budget allocations.

Rp. 1.7 trillion is a lot of money to play with. I wonder what the City will spend it on? I hope its towards cleaning our waterways, repairing roads and streets and creating more parks. Well, one can hope at least.
