Sanglah General Hospital in the Bali capital Denpasar is treating four more foreigners suspected to be infected with the H1N1 strain of flu.

State news agency Antara identified the suspected patients as Australians Ryan Wood and Arron Micheal, German Gerry O'Brian and Argentine Brian Ariel Schargorodsky, all of whom had been on the island for a few days.

“Three of them were taken to Sanglah last night upon recommendation by private hospitals, while the other patient took the initiative of seeking treatment here,” Agus Somia, head of the hospital's H1N1 controlling team, said Tuesday.

He added all the patients underwent intensive care at the Nusa Indah isolation ward.

“We gave them Tamiflu and sent samples of their throat cultures to a lab in Jakarta. We’re still waiting for the results of the lab tests,” Agus said.

The hospital recently discharged Bobbie Masoner and George Coltman, following their recovery from the disease. (ewd)
