State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will raise Wednesday the prices of non-subsidized fuels by an average Rp 310 (3 US cents).
Pertamina spokesman Basuki Trikora Putra said in a statement the price of Pertamax gasoline would be increased from Rp 6,000 to Rp 6,300 per liter in Greater Jakarta. In selected gas stations, the price will increase from Rp 5,900 to Rp 6,200 a liter.
The price of Pertamax Plus gasoline will rise from Rp 6,600 to Rp 6,900 per liter, while the price of Bio Pertamax gasoline will go up from Rp 6,000 to Rp 6,300 per liter. In selected gas station, the Bio Pertamax price will increase from Rp 5,900 to Rp 6,200 per liter.
Trikora said the price hikes followed the increase of the Mid Oil Platts Singapore (MOPS), which Pertamina uses as its fuel-pricing benchmark.
"The MOPS increased between 3.55 and 8.20 percent," Trikora said.
He added the increase was also caused by the weakening rupiah against the US dollar.
Pertamina adjusts the prices of non-subsidized fuels every two weeks.
