RI citizen aboard ill-fated Yemeni plane

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that an Indonesian citizen was among 153 people aboard a Yemeni passenger jet that crashed into the Indian Ocean after attempting to land during heavy winds on the island of Comoros on Tuesday.Ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasyah told kompas.com the woman, identified only as RDM, was a flight attendant on the plane.
“She came from Magetan in East Java and was among the plane’s crew of 11. We received confirmation from the Indonesian Embassy in Sana’a and have told her family about the accident,” Faizasyah said.
The ministry would monitor the search through the embassy, but had yet to take steps in connection with the incident, he said. (ewd)
