INDONESIA: Thai vice minister of foreign affairs , Panich Vikitsreth, will visit Indonesia from July 1 to 3, in a bid to strengthen bilateral ties, the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta said Monday.
Vikitsreth will first arrive in Medan, North Sumatra, on Wednesday. On the same day, he will depart for Banda Aceh, where he will meet with the province's governor and also representatives of the Acehnese society.
On Thursday, Vikitsreth will visit the Mah Fah Luang Foundation, the Tsunami Memorial and a housing reconstruction project, all in Aceh.
He will arrive in Jakarta on Thursday.
"During his stay in Jakarta, Vikitsreth will meet his Indonesian counterpart, Triyono Wibowo, and Fisheries and Marine Affairs Minister Freddy Numberi, and discuss bilateral issues with them," the embassy said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post on Monday. - JP
