Blackout in Batam

A blackout hit Batam on Wednesday morning after a transmission line from the Panaran power plant was cut.
Yeti Mulyani, a local spokesperson for state power firm PT PLN, told state news agency Antara that the damage was caused by a lightning strike.
The blackout started at 9 a.m. and at the time of writing PLN was still fixing the damage.
“We do not know how long the repair will take,” she said. (dre)
