JAKARTA: Eight cows ran around in a panic in the Cikampek toll road and one was killed after being hit by a car when a truck carrying the cows caught fire for unknown reasons, the police reported Tuesday.
According to the Jakarta Police Traffic Management Center, the truck caught fire Tuesday morning at around 6:15 a.m. on kilometer 47 of the Cikampek Toll.
The fire caused the cows on the truck to panic and break loose from the truck, running through the toll way to avoid the fire.
The police and the truck driver managed to catch seven of the loose cows, though one died after being hit by a passing car.
The fire, extinguished 15 minutes later by the fire department, nearly burnt half of the truck. There were no human casualties in the incident and the police were still assessing the damage. - JP
