The People's Coalition for the Supervision of Good and Clean Governance
(Komwas PBB) has questioned whether presidential hopefuls running in
the July 8 election are committed to reforming the bureaucracy and
improving public services.
"After all those debates, we have yet to see any of the candidates going into the substance of how they will improve the system of public services," Wahyudinata, from Komwas PBB, told
The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
Representatives of the three campaign teams are speaking at a seminar that will assess each candidate's plans for bereaucratic reform.
The forum will be held today and will present Sonny Keraf from the Megawati-Prabowo campaign team, Haryono Isman from the SBY-Boediono campaign team and Eko Prasojo, a professor from University of Indonesia.
The seminar will also discuss the future of the Governance Administration Bill, which has been sitting in the House of Representatives since 2004. (adh)
