China reports 1st swine flu-related death

Chinese state media is reporting that a woman diagnosed with the H1N1 virus has died in the country's first swine flu-related death.

The official Xinhua News Agency said that a 34-year-old woman who had been sickened with the virus died early Wednesday at a hospital in the coastal province of Zhejiang.

Xinhua said the woman was found dead in the bathroom of her ward at the No. 1 People's Hospital in the provincial capital of Hangzhou.

It said that she had been admitted to the hospital on June 23 and that her temperature had been normal for a week. She showed no other flu symptoms, Xinhua said.

The cause of her death was under investigation.
