BANDUNG: A supporter of Surabaya's Persebaya soccer club died of a suspected liquor overdose Wednesday after celebrating his team's win over Medan's PSMS soccer club in a play-off in Bandung.
Spokesman from the Bandung operational region of Indonesian railway company PT Kereta Api, Bambang Setyo Prayitno, said the fan, identified as Subaidi, was found convulsing in a Pasundan train cart heading for Surabaya.
Subaidi, 22, was then rushed to the nearby Pindad hospital but died for hours later. "His condition worsened. His death was probably caused by an overdose of liquor," said Zul Kurniawan, a doctor at the hospital. The hospital is waiting for Subaidi's family to collect his body. - JP
