Student activists from across the nation showed their support for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday by stamping a banner with their blood.

"This is a symbol of our support for the KPK because we are concerned at the various efforts that are being taken to weaken this commission, that has so far proved good at eradicating corruption," National Student Executive Body coordinator Wahyu Suranto said in Jakarta on Thursday.

He was joined by around 100 students from 15 universities throughout the country at KPK headquarters.

Wahyu also expressed concern over the House of Representative’s sluggish deliberation of the Corruption Court bill.

"We hope this small symbol has a big impact on the continuation of corruption eradication efforts," he said.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi thanked him for the support and said "this is a real form of support for the KPK to continue eradicating corruption".
