JAKARTA: Working in the entertainment business can indeed be so stressful that one needs to take a break once in a while. Comedian and actor Aming is feeling the need to disappear for a while.
Those familiar with the 28-year old comedian, who is known for playing a woman in a TV comedy, might have missed him these past months. He is that often bullied, twiggy-like woman character with intentionally kitsch, overdone make up and a thick Sundanese accent.
"I intentionally want to get away for a while after finishing my last movie Doa Yang Mengancam (A Threatening Prayer). I am taking a six-month break," said the comedian whose real name is Supriatna Sugandhi, as quoted by entertainment website Kapanlagi.com on Thursday.
Aming, who made his debut in retro band Naif's video clip, said that there are no particular reasons for his taking a break.
"I feel lazy. I'm sometimes like that, when I don't feel like it, I'd rather not do anything," he said, adding that his break was over and he's back on screen, preparing a movie with an as yet undisclosed title.
Aside from his regular performances on TV, Aming has starred in six movies, including the comedies Quickie Express and Get Married. - JP
