Christo wins doubles, eyes singles title at National Tennis Games

Christoper Rungkat and Nesa Artha of Jakarta won the men’s doubles title at the Alfamart Cup National Tennis Games in Jakarta on Saturday.Christopher, popularly known as Christo, and his Davis Cup teammate Nesa outgunned Andrian Raturandang and David Agung Wibowo in a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win in the final at the Bung Karno tennis complex in Senayan, South Jakarta.
Christo stands a chance of winning the men’s singles title after beating Adrian 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-1 in the semifinals later Saturday. The top Jakarta player will meet Prima Simpatiaji in Sunday’s final.
In the women’s draw, veterans Yayuk Basuki and Romana Tedjakusuma took the doubles title after beating Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies 6-3, 6-2. The singles final on Sunday will pit Ayu Fani Damayanti against Lavinia Tananta.
As of Saturday, Jakarta took an unassailable lead in the medals tally, with 10 golds
