Tens of thousands of workers joined under the National Front for the Struggle of Indonesian Workers (FNPBI) declared Sunday they would not vote in the July 8 presidential election.
Kompas.com reported that at a mass union rally in Jember, East Java, the workers claimed they did not want to cooperate with the government in their ongoing fight for the rights of workers.
“We have called on our members to reject the upcoming election,” East Java FNBI coordinator, Afik Irwanto, said.
