Just three days before the presidential election, the Supervisory Elections Body (Bawaslu) has not received the final list of voters from the General Elections Commission (KPU).
"What we have received from the KPU is a recapitulation of voters, not the list itself," Bawaslu chairman Nur Hidayat Sardini was quoted by Tempointeraktif.com as saying Sunday.
Hidayat added that Bawaslu could not verify anything from the KPU's recapitulation report, which said there were 176 million voters in 471 regencies.
Meanwhile, KPU member Wirdyaningsih said that KPU could not yet hand over the full list of voters to Bawaslu as the commission was still fixing some problems in the list.
Hidayat said the President could issue a government regulation in lieu of law (Perpu) to supplement the problematic list of voters by allowing eligible voters but not listed in the KPU list to vote using their identity card as a proof.
But Hidayat said that Bawaslu would not recommend the issuance of Perpu to the President but would let KPU make the recommendation.
