Letters: New episode of Rambo

In the Rambo III, John Rambo was hand-in-hand with the Taliban army to defend the country against Soviet occupation. The story itself described the action of Rambo in Afghanistan while it was occupied by the soviet.

In the film, a Taliban leader who is also a friend of John Rambo, explained that no foreign army could ever win against the people of Afghanistan, he mentioned that some armies had tried, but failed, citing Alexander the Great, Kubilai Khan and the British Army as a few who had failed. Why the foreign armies failed was because they could not defeat the spirit of Afghan people.

As we all understand, the soviet army also failed in Afghanistan and the US army that started the occupation since the Bush junior era, has failed too. There is no sign that the US army is going to win the war.

Today, in the era of the Obama administration, from the beginning of his administration, even from the beginning of his campaign, he claimed he would repatriate US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, what a poor decision, why did Obama not discuss this with John Rambo first?

Who ever had been hand-in-hand with the Taliban? Or it might be that the president has already discussed it with John Rambo and will send him again to Afghanistan, but this time to fight against his old friend the Taliban? Would it be a new episode of Rambo?

If only the US government could perform some self evaluation and take heed of the past, there would not be another episode of war in Afghanistan.

Not talking about war in Vietnam that has been forgotten, but perhaps the Obama administration needs to remember their failure in Iraq (that he himself said he was against the war), which until now has been a victory for no one, it has only caused misery to Iraqis and the families of US soldiers.

Because of war in Afghanistan, innocent people have suffered unnecessarily. After Soviet occupation, and now again and again, other occupations in new forms, in the name of destroying extremism & terrorism have arisen.

In the end, one may ask, why in the era of democracy, do democracy heroes never think about other national freedom and the freedom of the Afghan people to dream about their future?

Why also in the global financial crisis, do heroes still spend so much money for nothing? Would there be nothing to do without war and killing? Just like other wars, no one wins. John Rambo will be back again? May God, forgive us!
