our comments on the government's ban on the import of BlackBerry cell phones because Research in Motion Ltd, the manufacturer from Canada, has failed to open official service centers in Indonesia.
BlackBerry phones are just one example that in global economy, Indonesia is still not competitive in comparison to other Asian countries.

I think the service providers who provided the BB service (Telkomsel; Indosat; XL) should be responsible for this.
They should provide BB service centers, to help their customers use the services smoothly. The service providers should also sell the BB handset and then they would not avoid their responsibilities. This is a business issue.
So the Indonesian government should get involved.

There are many fake BlackBerry phones in Indonesia.
The government must discuss it with the cellular operator that distributes BlackBerrys, like Indosat, XL, and Telkomsel.
BlackBerry phones are a good commodity to sell and can produce a good profit too.

I am a BlackBerry user. I agree that Research in Motion Ltd. must open official service center in Indonesia because recently many BlackBerries are out of order.

The possible solution for the problem does not require too much money from RIM, they should just follow the rules, not resort to bribery and use the standard investment procedure in Indonesia.
