The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) is summoning presidential hopeful Megawati Soekarnoputri and her running mate Prabowo Subianto over alleged campaign violation reported by their rival team of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Boediono.

“We had sent the [summons] letter on Tuesday,” said Wirdyaningsih, a member of Bawaslu, as quoted by kompas.com.

Megawati is expected to be present at Bawaslu's office at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Prabowo at 3:30 p.m. to give their clarification.

Wirdyaningsih said Bawaslu would not accept representatives of the pair. “They themselves have to come,” she said.

Earlier, members of the SBY-Boediono campaign team filed a report accusing Megawati-Prabowo of violating campaign regulation by giving a live-to-air political oration on Tuesday, a day prior to the election day.

Campaign ctivities were be banned during the three-day period leading up to voting day, known as the cooling-off period. (dre)
