UPANG: The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) administration has provided rolling funds to 30 people living with HIV/AIDS in Kupang municipality, Kupang regency and South Timor Tengah regency, aimed at improving the well-being of the infected people who mostly come from less-privileged families.
The NTT HIV/AIDS Eradication Commission secretary Husein Pancratius said in Kupang, Tuesday, the funds for initial stage of assistance were derived from the 2009 provincial budget worth Rp 90 million (US$9,000).
Each of the recipients, he added, would get Rp 3 million.
"The funds will be given to others every other six months. The administration will seek other sources of funds to add capital if they are able to develop their businesses."
