DENPASAR: The Bali office of the Supreme Audit Agency has recorded Rp 34.58 billion (US$34 million) in losses in Buleleng regency during the 2008 fiscal year, an official said on Thursday.
Head of the office, I Gede Kastawa, said the losses were caused by several agencies inability to control financial expenses, including the regency's treasury office, which lost Rp 138.01 million, the regional revenue office, which lost Rp 27.26 billion, just to name a few.
"We also found that many official vehicles valued at Rp 97 million are still used by a number of retired employees," Kastawa said.
The BPK found around Rp 5.6 billion in losses at the Buleleng Health office, because of financial mismanagement of community health centers in the regency during 2008. - JP
