A gun in the Papua shooting that killed an Australian working for U.S. mining firm Freeport is usually used by police and military officers, Papua Police chief Insp. Gen. Bagus Ekodanto says.
Police found three cartridge cases and projectiles from the crime scene, he said Saturday.
The victim, Brew Nicholas Grant, was hit by bullets in his chest, neck, and stomach.
Grant was admitted to a local hospital in Kuala Kencana, a local mining town, but he died as a result of his injuries.
