A woman and her daughter who had been receiving treatment at their home in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, after reportedly showing flu-like symptoms similar to the H1N1 flu virus, tested negative for swine flu.
“Their swab tests were negative. They are no longer confined to staying in their house anymore,” said Syafak Hanung, director of Kanudjoso Djatiwibowo Hospital, which had overseen the suspect's treatment, on Saturday.
Sadiana, 30, and Karina, 8, had been receiving treatment at home, under the care and supervision of a medical team from the hospital and a community health center.
Syafak also announced the hospital was overseeing the treatment of an American and a French national who had tested positive for swine flu.
American RH, 26, is being treated at an isolation ward at the Kanudjoso Djatiwibowo Hospital since July 6. RH was named an H1N1 suspect after having a high fever reaching 38 degrees Celsius following a trip to swine flu affected areas including Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
French FC, 41, is being treated at his residence in Balikpapan. (dre)
