The herbal wonders

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiseptic properties. It has been popular for treating acne. To use it on acne, make a creamy paste of turmeric with coconut oil (or sesame oil). Cover the afflicted areas completely with this paste and leave it overnight.

Red onion has anti-bacterial properties to relieve toothache. Simply take a raw onion and chew it thoroughly as it will help get rid of the problem. Chewing raw onion for three minutes is good option to kill any germs in the mouth.

Garlic is used to cure coughs. Boil some garlic cloves in water to make a tea. You can add sugar to sweeten the brew before drinking.

Lime is good for treating coughs and a sore throat. Just mix the juice of two or three limes with soy sauce. Drink it three times a day.

Cucumber is best known for treating hypertension. Boil 200 grams of cucumber and then strain off the water. Drink the water twice a day.

Aloe vera is extremely cooling and can be used to treat burns, reduce inflammation and redness on the skin and soothe sun burn. Rub the plant’s gel on the affected area.

Water spinach works to help get rid of dandruff. Steep fresh water spinach in a basin of water for the whole night, until the water turns bluish. Use this water to wash your hair the next day.

Betel pepper leaf can help reduce body odor. Boil five betel pepper leaves in two glasses of water.

When the water has reduced to one glass, drink it at noon. Betel pepper leaves are also believed to work wonders for treating itches and scabs. Boil 20 leaves and use the still-warm water to wash the affected area.  

Sweetsop fruit has anti-inflammatory properties and works as an astringent, with a cooling effect on the skin. It’s best known to treat boils. Mix a mashed ripe sweetsop fruit with a small amount of salt. Apply the paste to the affected area and cover it with gauze bandages.

Tomato can boost your appetite. Just drink tomato juice one hour before meals. If you’re suffering from morning sickness during your pregnancy, try drinking a glass of fresh tomato juice, mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper early in the morning.
