Damages causes power blackout in Lampung

A- A A+
Recent breakdowns at several power plants in Sumatra have led to scheduled blackouts in Lampung, the local state-owned power company PT PLN says.

“Blackouts may continue until next week,” said Sumargo, a spokesperson of the company branch in Lampung, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Sumargo said damages to six power generators in Sumatra Island have reduced the power supply to the province by a third.

He said during peak hours, the province could consume up to 375 megawatts of electricity. (dre)
