Garuda targets Rp 3.7t in profit by 2014

State flag carrier company PT Garuda Indonesia is targeting to net Rp 3.7 trillion (US$3.7billion) in profit by 2014 after the company improved its management.
"The target will be achieved with 27.6 million passengers," Garuda president director Emirsyah Satar said during the ceremony of Garuda Indonesia Corperate Identity Brand Refresh in Cengkareng, Tanggerang on Wednesday.
He said that Garuda net 10.1 million passengers in 2008 and would maintain its performance to achieve the targeted quantity of passengers.
"During the last five years we have tried to do some improvement and expand this company. We have turned our losses to profit," he said.
The company suffered Rp 811 billion of losses in 2004. However, it noted Rp 669 billion in profit in 2008.
